Dancehall singjay D’Angel sent out her appreciation to Food For The Poor (FFP), the largest charity organisation in Jamaica, for supporting her charitable organisation. The artiste expressed gratitude on Instagram, where she has been providing her supporters with frequent updates on the progress she has made with spreading a little love this Christmas through Angel’s Foundation.

Fans have seen the highs and lows of Angel’s Foundation as the entertainer does not shy away from showing her success and heart-wrenching moments when there are insufficient supporters. The artiste told the Jamaica Star in early November that the foundation was seeking to partner with local companies to expand the charity’s reach.

Today, she shared that she was collecting supplies from FFP for her Christmas special, “Spread A Little Love This Christmas,” through Angel’s Foundation. D’Angel, legally named Michelle Downer, can be seen in a video posted to her IG account standing alongside the supplies that she is collecting at FFP.

“So right now mi deh Food Fi Di Poor…The foundation is priority in this high season of Christmas,” she stated in the video. While adding that it was no easy task maintaining her charity, she explained that she was selflessly putting her charity above her own personal care to ensure that the elderly were treated.

“Big up to Food Fi Di Poor…It’s a blessing…Give God thanks,” she added. In the caption, she tagged FFP as she wrote, “If putting your Foundation First was a Person. Thank you @foodforthepoorja Big up David 👍.”

Through Angel’s Foundation, which is in its seventh year of operation, D’Angel hopes to provide food for 500 families this Christmas. She had started a GoFundMe campaign called “Spread A Little Love This Christmas” with the goal of raising US$4,000 (roughly J$613,690) to buy food supplies for care packages. Since then, 39 donations have been made to the cause, totalling US $1,971 so far.
