Diddy and Swizz Beatz are Backing Kanye West in His Fight Against Adidas

Amid his ongoing feud with Adidas and Gap, Kanye West has gained support from fellow hip hop artistes Diddy and Swizz Beatz, who have called out Adidas for their treatment of the artiste and his brand.

Earlier this summer, West publicly accused Gap and Adidas of leaving him out of important decisions regarding the brand and copying his original designs. West alleged that Gap was copying a Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga T-shirt design for Gap’s own oversized logo T-shirt and that Adidas was imitating his Yeezy Slides with their Adilette 22 slide sandals. The artiste had previously signed agreements with both companies to carry his Yeezy brand, and his contract with Adidas is not set to end until 2026.

West has been publicly feuding with both companies on social media, most recently posting the photographs of Adidas executives on his Instagram page. The artiste has now garnered support from fellow entertainers and business moguls, Diddy and Swizz Beatz. Beatz posted a photo of an alleged Yeezy lookalike released by Addidas covered with a red X. Stating that he usually minds his own business, Beatz called out the company for what they were doing with West’s brand.

“If we let them do this to @kanyewest it will happen to us also! This man created this groundbreaking innovation and it should be respected as a creative! YE is only asking for his work to be respected and not stolen that’s not crazy to me !! We not buying these !!!!!!!!!!!! @adidas you’re supposed to be original do the correct thing please !!!

Beatz is currently in a battle of his own with Triller over Verzuz, who he and producer Timbaland are suing for $28 million due to an alleged breach of contract. Diddy, who has also supported Beatz in his legal battle, reached out to West via a text message, asking him to send him something that he could post in support.

“I never wear Addidas again for the rest of my life if they don’t make you right.” Diddy wrote, to which West replied, “Praise God, love you.”

Diddy posted a screenshot of the message along with the picture of the Adidas shoes that Beatz had posted on his Instagram page. Noting that Adidas had made billions off of black culture and used hip hop to build their brand since the era of Run-DMC, Diddy spoke out in defence of West.

“WE ARE MORE THAN JUST CONSUMERS NOW, WE’RE THE OWNERS. @KanyeWest and YEEZY are the reason Adidas is relevant to culture. WE KNOW OUR VALUE! I’m done wearing Adidas products until they make this right!! We have to support each other !!” Diddy wrote.
