While many people praised Rihanna for her performance at the Super Bowl during the Halftime show, there were still some mixed reviews. Among the top critics is former US president Donald Trump, who described Rihanna’s set as an “EPIC FAIL.”
Trump, who is known for holding grudges, went on his social media platform, Truth Social, with detesting remarks that Rihanna delivered “the single worst Halftime Show in Super Bowl history.”
Truth Social, said to be an uncensored alternative to Twitter and Facebook, was created by Donald Trump’s Trump Media & Technology Group company.
On the platform, he posted, “EPIC FAIL: Rihanna gave, without question, the single worst Halftime Show in Super Bowl history — This after insulting far more than half of our Nation, which is already in serious DECLINE, with her foul and insulting language. Also, so much for her ‘Stylist!”
Trump’s grudge against Rihanna stems from a post she made to Instagram in August 2020, during the election that Trump ultimately lost. The fashion mogul shared a photo of a car that was covered in graffiti as a female stooped in front of it with a spray can. Amid the car’s colourful display were spray-painted black words that read, “F*ck Trump.”
