INDECOM Investigating Tommy Lee’s Alleged Altercation With A Guard
An investigation has been launched by The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) surrounding the alleged dispute between a correctional officer and Tommy Lee, which left the incarcerated artiste hospitalized.
According to INDECOM, the Department of Correctional Services (DCS) made a report about an allegation of assault that included an inmate at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Center. The alleged altercation took place on Monday, and it involved at least one guard and the dancehall artiste.
The Commission advised that immediate steps will be taken in the investigation to conclude the circumstances of the dispute. These steps include interviewing Tommy Lee, interviewing witnesses at the centre, collecting medical entries and the reports on the extent of both parties’ injuries.
The investigation will also seek to find out the number of officers involved in the altercation, collect evidentiary material and serve Section 21 Notices to any concerned officer for the submission of a statement concerning the incident.
Lastly, the Commission advised that updates will be given about the investigation at the appropriate time.
According to sources Tommy Lee is still in the hospital receiving treatment.
