Jamaican Actress Kimberly Patterson Building on 'King of the Dancehall' success

[Sharingbuttons]Rapper, actor, comedian, director, screenwriter, film producer, entrepreneur, record producer, radio and television personality — Nick Cannon does it all.

His newest endeavor is the film King of the Dancehall, which is now available exclusively through YouTube Red on Russell Simmons’s All Def Digital channel.

The film’s female lead was played by local make-up artist Kimberly Patterson. She played Maya, Cannon’s love interest.

Patterson was selected to be part of the TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) Actor’s Programme, which granted the actress access, insight, and advice from some of Hollywood’s top casting directors during the festival.

The aspiring actress who has been cast in the local miniseries Losing Patience still manages to remain present on the production scene and keep up with her makeup career.

According to Patterson, she has been in a lot of shoots with the crew before they asked her to audition for Desiree which she did and landed the role.

In the meantime, Patterson said she does not consider herself as an actress as yet but will be doing more work in front of the camera as she does see acting in the future.
