
Jamaican Man Arrested in Mississippi While Trying to Traffic over 715 Pounds of Marijuana

Jamaican national Jermaine Barrett, who is reportedly living in Nevada in the United States, was arrested in Mississippi for trafficking a controlled substance.

According to reports, the drugs were discovered by a Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department deputy during a traffic stop.
In addition to over 715 pounds of marijuana, over 26,500 marijuana-infused gummies weighing in at 440 pounds were found in Barrett’s possession.

An investigation is ongoing, but it is believed the drugs, which have an estimated value of US$2 million, were being transported from California to North Carolina.
Barrett, who was arrested on Sunday, was reportedly staying in the country on a work visa.
