As Queen Cop Sasha Henry continues to gracefully transition into the music industry, she highlights the societal problems plaguing the country in a soulful spiritual song.
The single, entitled Draw Close, opens the eyes to the hardships faced by civilians who are struggling to survive, bringing their stories to life with an accompanying music video.
Draw Close is a collaborative effort between Sasha, who became popular on social media for her eye-catching beauty in and out of her uniform, and recording artiste Shawn Antoine.
The music video was released on October 20 at 4:00 p.m., depicting the policewoman praying to a higher power for protection and guidance. While singing about the struggles of a single mother, growing youths, and unemployed individuals, the officer explains that through faith, she relies on God for everything.
“Everyday mi chant a Psalm, father guide mi path. Road it rocky, yes it tough, mi know di dutty tuff. Fadda God mi ask you, protect me from my foes,” she sings.
The music video shows Queen Cop wearing a white dress as she heads to church, where she remains throughout the video. The visuals also depict a mother with her children, a man who struggles after being fired from his job, and Shawn Antoine at the beach. The camera switches between the different scenes, showing how the mother is coping on her own and how the man, who is ridiculed in public, copes with his issues.
