Jeff Bezos Engaged to Girlfriend Lauren Sanchez
Sources close to 59-year-old Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and girlfriend Lauren Sanchez have reportedly revealed that the couple is now engaged four years after going public with their relationship in 2019.
Bezos and Sanchez split from their respective spouses in 2019; Bezos divorced his wife of 25 years, MacKenzie Scott, with whom he shares four children, and Sanchez ended her 13-year-marriage with Patrick Whitesell, with whom she shares two of her three children.
Except for being photographed together at numerous events, the pair has kept their relationship very private. They were recently spotted travelling aboard Bezos’ $500 million yacht, which features a wooden female figurehead modelled in Sanchez’s likeness.
Specific details of the billionaire businessman’s proposal to the former journalist have not been revealed but reports state that he asked Sanchez to marry him before leaving for their trip to Europe. Sanchez and Bezos are currently in the South of France for the Cannes Film Festival. Prior to news of the pair’s engagement, Sanchez was photographed over the weekend wearing a large diamond ring.
In a 2022 interview with CNN, Bezos described Sanchez as “the most generous, most big-hearted person that you would ever meet.” Sanchez went on to call the businessman the most loving human she knew in an interview with WSJ Magazine earlier this year. Sanchez has also spoken about blending their families, noting that she has a great relationship with the father of her first child and his partner.
