Key Witness in Tory Lanez Trial Gives Wild Testimony

The jury heard testimony from Sean Kelly in the ongoing trial against Tory Lanez who is accused of shooting fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion. Kelly’s Hollywood Hills home overlooks the location where the shooting occurred in 2020 and during his testimony on Tuesday, the man who says he witnessed the shootout that left Megan in the hospital claimed that he saw an initial muzzle flash near two women fighting, followed by a very agitated man.

It was shortly after 4 a.m. that morning that Sean Kelly, who was in his bedroom at the time of the incident that occurred on July 12, 2020, and he told jurors that he noticed four people fighting and screaming at each other during a “quite violent” confrontation that took place on Nichols Canyon Road in Los Angeles.

In his testimony under oath, Kelly stated that, while he believed one of “the girls” fired the first shot, he saw the “smaller gentleman” fire four or five shots in quick succession, causing a woman to fall to the ground bleeding. According to him, the men viciously beat the female victim who was curled up in a ball on the ground.

Kelly stated that there seemed to be no end to the craziness. Kelly’s hour of explosive testimony as a defense witness was mostly inconsistent, depending on whether the prosecution or defense asked questions.

During Lanez’s felony assault trial, Kelly was called as a defense witness because he told an investigator that he believed he saw an initial muzzle flash closest to a woman’s hand during a suspected physical altercation between Megan and former friend Kelsey Harris near Lanez’s Cadillac Escalade’s open door in January 2021.

Lanez’s defense team, however, argues that it was Harris, not Lanez, who fired the gun in a jealous rage after she discovered what was going on between Lanez and Megan. They claim Harris had a crush on the Canadian rapper and felt betrayed by Megan.
