Shaw’s rocket of a goal takes her to 13 goals in 12 games played and one ahead of in-form Chelsea winger Lauren James. However, Shaw’s team remained second in the league, three points behind leaders Chelsea on 31 points.

This current season, Manchester City have scored a whopping total of nine goals without reply against Tottenham Hotspur, but they were pushed at Brisbane Road on Sunday.

City took the lead thanks to an own goal scored by Tottenham defender Amy Turner in the 9th minute before Martha Thomas had a goal disallowed for the hosts as a result of a narrow offside violation.
At the start of the second half, Khadija Shaw confirmed City’s victory by finding the roof of the net from close range.

Shaw will be in action again against Leicester City on the 4th of February in the WSL, two weeks before their top-of-the-table clash with league leaders Chelsea.
