This is the second notable achievement for the Jamaican striker in over a week, as she made history by scoring three hat tricks in a calendar year for a female player in the WSL, following up on her record-breaking 2022-2023 goal-scoring season for Manchester City.

The Reggae Girlz Foundation Instagram account hailed Shaw’s achievement by posting this message, “Congratulations to Reggae Girl @bun_bun10 for topping the 2023 @barclayswsl goal scorers list with 21 goals.”

Bunny Shaw’s 21 goals for the year 2023 tops the chart, her closest competitor, Aston Villa’s Rachel Daly, finished with 18 goals, Bethany England of Tottenham and Elisabeth Terland of Brighton tied for third with 12 goals each.

Shaw will be looking to continue her goal-scoring form next year as her team pushes for a place at the top of the WSL, which will qualify them for Europe as well and prolong their FA Cup run.
