Khadija Shaw and Andre Blake Nominated for CONCACAF’s Player of the Year Award

The Reggae Gilrz’ Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw and the Reggae Boyz’ Andre Blake have nabbed nominations for CONCACAF’s Player of the Year Award for 2022.

The nominees for the prestigious award were chosen after considering the players’ performance data and the advice of technical specialists. Voting for the award commenced on Friday, and votes may be cast at www.concacaf.com/concacaf-awards.

Players, coaches, members of the media, and fans may all cast their votes in the final round, which will run through April 13.

Shaw, who plays for Manchester City in the FA Women’s Super League, is up for Female Player of the Year alongside Jessie Fleming, Alicia Cervantes, Melchie Dumornay, Alex Morgan, and Sophia Smith.

Blake, Philadelphia Union goalkeeper in the US Major League, will be vying for the Male Player of the Year alongside Alphonso Davies, Jonathan David, Guillermo Ochoa, Tyler Adams, and Christian Pulisic.

Shaw recently broke Manchester City’s record for the most goals scored by a female player in a single campaign. In 2022, Blake made history after winning the Allstate Major League Soccer Goalkeeper of the Year Award for a record third time.
