Khadija Shaw Awarded Goal and Player of the Season for Manchester City W.F.C.

Following the conclusion of its 2022/23 season with a 3-2 victory over Everton in the Barclays Women’s Super League, Manchester City has awarded Jamaican footballer Khadija Shaw the goal of the season as well as the player of the season.

Shaw has played a superb season with Manchester City and, in March, was named the club’s highest-scoring player across a single season after netting 26 goals in 22 games. In May, the Manchester City forward added the CONCACAF Women’s Player of the Year Award to her growing list of accolades, becoming the first Caribbean player to do so.

Manchester City closed their season with a face-off with Everton at the Academy Stadium on Saturday. Shaw secured the game’s first goal and her 30th of the season in the 51st minute and went on to score her 31st in the 69th.

Shaw was presented with the Goal of the Season Award and the Player of the Season Award by coach Gareth Taylor.
