Kishane Thompson and Ackeem Blake to Compete at the Golden Gala Diamond League

Following their attendance at this summer’s Olympics in Paris, France, Jamaican athletes Kishane Thompson and Ackeem Blake are scheduled to return to the track next week for the Golden Gala Diamond League.

The meet will be hosted in Rome, Italy, on August 30 and both sprinters are slated to compete in the 100m.

In addition to Thompson and Blake, Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo, Italy’s Marcell Jacobs and Chituru Ali, Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala, Japan’s Abdul Hakim Sani Brown, and Americans Fred Kerley and Christian Coleman will also be in attendance.

Thompson, who is fresh off of his Olympic silver medal achievement, still has the fastest time over the 100m this year, with his personal best (PB) of 9.77 seconds.

Kerly and Tebego are also fresh off of Olympic success, following Kerly’s bronze medal in the 100m and Tebego’s gold in the 200m.

Blake, who was unable to make it past the 100m semi-finals in Paris, currently has a personal best of 9.89s.
