The Red Devils Manchester United were denied a perfect Four game win in the last match of their four-game pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia when they were forced to concede to a 2-2 draw With Aston Villa, thanks to Jamaican-born forward Leon Bailey and 27-year-old defender Calum Chambers.
Manchester United dominated the first half of the match and a fourth consecutive win seemed in reach. Forward Jadon Sancho scored the opening goal, his third of the summer, with a good pick-out and an assist from defender Luke Shaw in the 25th minute. Man United ended halftime with their 24-year-old forward Marcus Rashford’s shot deflecting off of Villa’s Matty Cash and into Villa’s goal.
Aston Villa was down 2-0 when coach Steven Gerrard shook up his lineup and introduced five new players, inclusive of Leon Bailey. The 24-year-old scored within four minutes of stepping on the field taking advantage of the space given to him by Victor Lindelof and giving Villa the boost they needed.
It was another substitute, Calum Chambers, who entered 64 minutes into the match and neutralised the game for Villa with a header scored moments before the full-time whistle.
