Leon Bailey’s Inspiring Performance Helps Aston Villa Qualify For Europe

Arguably Jamaica’s best male football player currently playing, Leon Bailey, fashioned another stellar performance to help book a spot in Europe for the Villians to put a cap on their successful 22-23 season.

Leon Bailey has been a frequent starter under Unia Emery since he took charge late last year, finishing with four goals and four assists in 33 games.

Having last competed in Europe during the 2010/11 season, Aston Villa secured seventh place by one point over Tottenham.

Leon Bailey took to Instagram to celebrate the achievement by posting a pic of him and Douglas Luiz with the caption, “Get your passport, we’ll see you in Europe next Season.”

Aston Villa did what they usually do at home by getting off to a fast start as Leon Bailey swivelled and hit the bar within five minutes, and after 10 minutes had elapsed, Villa took the lead when Luiz scored after an incredible pass from Jacob Ramsey.

Leon Bailey again was instrumental as he played a defence-splitting pass to pick out Ramsey, who flicked a pass towards Ollie Watkins for a simple tap-in. Brighton eventually got on the score sheet through Deniz Undav after putting Aston Villa under severe pressure.

In the second half, Villa could have gotten a third after yet another brilliant move from Leon Bailey; the Jamaican winger stormed into the box, he then picked out a pass to Ramsey, who was equally brilliant on the night but could not find the finishing touch on this occasion.

Aston Villa eventually hung on to secure a 2-1 victory.
