After shocking the nation with her sudden baptism, which was shared via a viral video on the internet, Lisa Hyper, former dancehall deejay and Gaza first lady talks music career after getting baptized.

Before her baptism, videos were circulating of the songstress with rumours of her being “possessed” and her father wanting to take her to the Bellevue Hospital. The situation reportedly escalated to him physically assaulting her.

The artiste did an interview on Thursday, October 27 with one of the most prominent radio stations in the country, Zip 103 FM, and speaking to host Sapphire, she opened up about her new life and how it affects her musical career among other things.

Divulging some of the changes we can expect from her, Lisa requested the host refer to her as a ‘Sister’ by stating, “yuh can call me Sister Hyper.” She even mentioned that she no longer drinks or smokes and shared, “I have never felt better in all my life.”

Something that she has retained, however, is her stage name Lisa Hyper (Lisa is also the name that she was addressed by when the Minister of Christ was performing her baptism), and her love and respect for her idol and mentor, Vybz Kartel.

It is unclear how much of the Christian lifestyle the deejay will adopt, as she is still promoting her latest single Nuh Like People which now has a video released on her official YouTube channel. The song was a work produced by Yo West Productions, Gad People Production, and Luigi Society.

Two years ago in an Onstage TV interview with Winford Williams, after her public apology to Spice, Lisa Hyper had voiced, “I guess because I apologize to Spice, everybaddy feel like Lisa Hyper is a totally different person.  No, I’m still deranged…” She also declared her intent to dabble in Reggae and Gospel music.

“What I’m focusing on right now is the Matriarch album, the Reggae album, and then I’m gonna do a gospel album 2022, so look out for me people, I’m coming,” she had remarked. It is still unknown whether the current social media controversy is a part of her strategy for a gospel album release or if the artiste has fully decided to turn her life over to Christ.
