Mr. Vegas Graduates A Second Time – See Post

The internet is abuzz with words of commendation after dancehall artiste Mr. Vegas tells the world about his accomplishments on the educational front.

Not a newcomer to scholastic achievements, Mr. Vegas, (birth name Clifford Smith), first received his GED (General Education Diploma) at age 44, after having dropped out of secondary school in grade nine and then graduated from Boward Community College (located in Florida, United States), with a Mass Communication degree.

The Hot Wuk entertainer then moved on to attain higher accolades by enrolling at the Florida International University (FIU) and graduating once more with a 3.9 GPA. He uploaded a picture of himself in his graduation gown with a lengthy speech attached on Instagram.

In his caption, he stated, “In 2019, I took on the task to re-educate myself.”

After “getting a taste of college life,” the artiste recognized in himself the thirst for more knowledge. “That being so,” he said, “I applied and successfully enrolled at the Florida International University (FIU), where I changed my major to Sociology/Anthropology and minored in hospitality management.”

Spending a total of a year and a half at FIU, Mr. Vegas mentioned that the battle with assignments and the Covid 19 pandemic “threatened to thwart my mission” but he ultimately came out the victor.

Standing tall, the I Am Blessed deejay voiced, “I am proud to say that I did it…if you work diligently, your rewards will be great.”

Moving on to thank all those who were there to help and support him throughout his journey, Mr. Vegas thanked “some of the greatest minds”, his nephew Jay (who helped him with math), Tracey, Sherette, Stacey, Obondo, Imhotep and Vanessa and also his teachers, with a special shout out to Dr. Sammy. He stated, “I am a product of your patience, knowledge, and commitment to making your students succeed.”

Wrapping up his message, the entertainer vocalized, “this has been a great chapter in my life. My children and your children will have a father to draw inspiration from.” He also divulged that this is but a footnote in his journey as he intends to share all the knowledge that he has acquired, thus, the coming chapters in his life “will be more fascinating.”
