Nesbeth Clears The Air About Feud With Vybz Kartel

Reggae artiste Nesbeth, recently went live when he was asked about the reported issues he had with “Gazaboss”, Vybz Kartel and what transpired after.

The question was posed to Nesbeth by YardVibez TV that asked, “Do you believe that your career took a turn for the worse after you made a comment regarding Vybz Kartel?”.

The “My Dream” singer responded that he does not recall making any negative comment regarding Vybz Kartel. He, however, detailed that at the Youth View Awards (YVA) ceremony in 2017, both he and Vybz Kartel were nominated for Favorite Local Chart-Topping Song of the Year.

He stated that he recalled walking out of the ceremony when Vybz Kartel’s song “Fever” received the award for the category. In response to this, he stated that he made a video in which he said “Youth View Awards, I thought you were representing the youths.”

The entertainer expressed that he was indeed disappointed that he was not awarded the winner for the song in the category by the YVA’s. He stated that he believes his song “My Dream” resonated more with persons from all over the world who were going through the unimaginable and it was a song that gave people hope which differs drastically from the lyrics of Vybz Kartel’s song “Fever”.

The aftermath of the video he posted critiquing the YVA’s ruling, led to attacks from the Gazanation, as they believed he disrespected their artiste. However, Nesbeth reiterated that he is not a controversial artiste and he did not say anything negative about Vybz Kartel.

Nesbeth then went on to commend Vybz Kartel on his work and mentioned that he is undoubtedly a talented artiste and is deserving of the respect he gets. More so, the entertainer divulged that he enjoys listening to the uplifting songs by Kartel.
