With the Olympics days away, Lyles delivers an outstanding performance, which will no doubt be a challenge for his fellow competitors at the upcoming Paris Games.

Competing in the race with Lyles were Jamaicans Ackeem Blake in lane 8 and Yohan Blake in lane 1. Kicking off his race in lane 5, Lyles briefly trailed behind Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo, who momentarily held a lead in lane 4 before Lyles outpaced him.

The at-times controversial sprinter previously held a  9.83s PB, which he set in 2023.

The Jamaicans were unable to break into the top three, with Ackeem Blake finishing fifth in 9.97s, while Yohan Blake finished last in eighth place with a time of 10.23s.

Lyles, who is the reigning 100m and 200m world champion, will be attempting a sprint double at the upcoming Olympics.
