Pastor Cries and Calls on God After Being Sentenced to 15 Years for Raping His Receptionist
A pastor was sentenced to 15 years and one-month imprisonment for raping his receptionist during working hours. The pastor, who is also a principal, was sentenced on Friday after being found guilty in April.
According to the report, the pastor began sobbing in the courtroom and calling on God as soon as Supreme Court Judge Justice Annmarie Lawrence Grainger delivered the judgment. The preacher will be eligible for parole after serving 12 years.
The eight-day trial about the rape of a receptionist/teacher by the Kingston preacher began on March 22. The prosecution told the courtroom that the victim met the pastor/principal during a job search.
The victim was 24 years old at the time, and the defendant was in charge of a small educational facility in the Corporate Area. He made her an offer to work as a receptionist/teacher in 2013 after she reportedly visited the establishment to inquire.
The victim claims that the married defendant made numerous attempts to get together with her before raping her without using a condom in the kitchen on the property in January 2014.
In his unsworn statement, the defendant claimed that he had consensual relations with the woman and did not rape her.
