During a church sermon, a Grenadian pastor criticised Shenseea’s song Hit & Run as he warned his church members about becoming a one-night stand mother. Shenseea released Hit & Run in January, with the single quickly garnering praise from fans.

The track, which features Masicka, portrays Shenseea as a woman whose only interest is a one-night stand, while the deejay is a former lover seeking her affections.

In a clip of a Mother’s Day church sermon currently circulating online, a Grenadian pastor shared with his parishioners that he was told to listen to the track, and its lyrics stood out to him.

The pastor recited several lines of the lyrics, including a part of its chorus: “Yuh think yuh coulda get inna me feelings? You couldn’t get me fi sekkle down. Me give you a hit and run.”

The pastor went on to warn his female members not to become a “hit and run mother” as a result of having a one-night stand with a man and getting pregnant.

“There are individuals who gi him a hit and run and ended up with a child. They began by bargaining their body and trying to see if they will capture a man. A hit and run. Thinking that later on, the pleasure that he enjoyed just for some fleeting moments, he will sekkle down with dem.”

Following its release earlier this year, Hit & Run is now one of the featured tracks on Shenseea’s new album Never Gets Late Here and has amassed more than 29 million views on YouTube.
