Police Commits Suicide – St. Ann

A policeman was found shot to death on Sunday evening at his house in Exchange, St. Ann.

According to a police report shortly after 7 o’clock, neighbours heard an explosion at the house of Corporal Huie Green a firearm was later found beside the body which was on a bed.

Reports are that Corporal Green, who was stationed at the Claremont Police station in St. Ann, was involved in a motor vehicle crash about two weeks ago and was hospitalized. He was recuperating at home.

Sergeant Raymond Wilson, Chairman of the Police Federation, on Sunday night expressed regret that the Jamaica Constabulary Force had lost another member under tragic circumstances.

“Our chaplaincy unit has been mobilized to meet with family members because that’s part of the protocol. To know that we have just buried two police officers – this is devastating,” said Wilson.
