Police Identify American Woman Found With Throat Slashed In St James

The police have identified the American woman whose body was on Saturday morning found with her throat slit along Long Hill, St James.

She has been identified as 26-year-old unemployed Desiree Hyacinth Gibbon of Queens, New York.

According to a police report, Gibbon arrived in Jamaica on the 20th October and was given a three months stay in the country. She reportedly obtained a Tax Registration Number (TRN) and was actively seeking employment since her arrival.

Gibbon was positively identified by a close relative who last saw her Thursday night.
