Following the interception of a wrecker traveling along Highway 2000, a large quantity of marijuana was seized, and two men were arrested in Clarendon on Friday.
Reports state that the wrecker was traveling along the May Pen leg of Highway 2000 earlier today when members of the Clarendon and the Area Three special operations team and the narcotics team detained it. The wrecker was in the process of transporting a blue Toyota Probox, and upon searching the vehicle, several packages of compressed marijuana were discovered inside. Head of the Area Three police, acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Glenford Miller, confirmed the seizure, but the identities of the men who were taken into custody have not yet been released to the public.
In a statement, the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said the officers seized the vehicle as they are currently heightening their presence in Clarendon amid the State of Public Emergency that has been imposed on the parish.
