While he may be a lover of lavish parties and travelling, St. Thomas native Popcaan also appears to have a special affinity for nature and the traditional Jamaican country lifestyle. On Thursday, the artiste shared a few snapshots and video from a trip to the hills with a few of his friends.

Popcaan is fresh off of a cruise with his family and has a hectic month ahead of him. The Elevate deejay released the deluxe version of his album Great Is He on March 31 and will be touring several European cities for much of May.

As his extensive Great Is He album tour nears, Popcaan has been taking time for some excursions into the Jamaican countryside, often sharing snippets from his outings on social media.

The artiste shared his journey up to the hill, captioning his post, “Rather dey pan a hillside,” which are lyrics from a popular Chronic Law song.

Popcaan also shared a cooking session with a friend from his school days. Reacting to Popcaan’s most recent expedition to the country, dancehall veteran Bounty Killer stated, “Nature youth rooted in the roots.”
