Popcaan Gets Crazy DMs Over Toni-Ann Singh

Following the release of Popcaan’s collaborative single Toni-Ann Singh with Burna Boy, some female fans of the artiste are not pleased with the tribute to his girlfriend. On Sunday, Popcaan posted several DM screenshots to his Instagram stories from women who could not wait to tell him exactly what they had on their minds.

Each expressed their disgust and embarrassment for the song as well as Popcaan and Singh’s relationship. The women accused him of being ungrateful, saying they had supported him for years and questioned what Toni-Ann had ever done for him to deserve an entire song dedicated to her. While some of the messages seemed to be all in good humour, others appeared to be coming from a place of genuine anger.

However, the artiste did not appear to take any of the messages seriously and responded to them cheekily.

Popcaan and the 26-year-old former Miss world went public with their relationship in June and have since been seen travelling and attending events together in and out of the country.

The song ‘Toni-Ann Singh’ is Popcaan’s first collaboration with 31-year-old Nigerian Afrobeats singer, songwriter and record producer Burna Boy. The single has garnered over 400,000 views on youtube since its release on Thursday, July 7, and has been met with mostly positive reviews. The track is featured on Burna Boy’s sixth studio album ‘Love Damini’ which also includes collaborations with artists Ed Sheeran, J Balvin, Khalid and Kehlani.
