Residents protest the ‘Fatal Shooting’ Of a Man by police in Cockburn Pen
Protest erupts in Cockburn Gardens on Friday morning as residents expressed outrage at the fatal shooting of a member of the community during a police lead operation.
According to information, the police were on operation in the York Avenue section of the community about 9.30 am Friday, when a man was shot and killed by the police.
Up to the time of this report the dead man was only identified as “Andrew”.
Residents engulfed the streets with placards protesting that the man was ‘murdered by the police.’
They demanded “justice!”, and block roads with various instruments as well as setting vehicle ablaze which caused a build up of traffic in the area.
