Scenes From Popcaan’s Drain Cleaning Initiative in St. Thomas – Watch Videos
In a remarkable display of community engagement and environmental activism, the renowned Jamaican musician, Popcaan, spearheaded a drain-cleaning initiative in his parish of birth, St Thomas. The project aims to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of clogged drains on the environment and the importance of maintaining clean waterways.
The initiative, organized by the entertainer, included volunteers, supporters and a large excavator, and saw an impressive turnout of residents eager to witness the noble cause being undertaken.
Popcann, as usual, is fully active in anything he is a part of. The deejay appears in videos hanging off the heavy machinery as it traverses through the community to clear the drains and create a healthier and safer living environment for its residents.

Following the removal of debris from waterways within multiple St. Thomas communities close to the sea, in another video, Popcaan and his team are seen on the seaside to clear an area so that the once stagnant waterways could make their way into the sea.
Popcaan also took the opportunity to show his heavy equipment operating skills by taking the wheels of the excavator and clearing an area. A reporter and cameraman from a popular news company was also present on the seaside carrying out interviews.
The Unruly artiste handed over the machinery to its designated operator, who stepped up the pace of removing sand from the area separating the waterway from the sea. After connecting the waterbodies partially, the operator continues to work to widen the pathway of the water coming from the communities.
In the closing of the lengthy video, the person capturing the moment shows another area within the vicinity of the sea littered with garbage scheduled to be removed.
The initiative seems to have lasted into the night based on another video posted by Popcann, which showed him in the community along with the excavator in the dark as he trolls the operator for being drunk.
