Following his extradition from California, Jamaican-born rapper Kisean Anderson, professionally known as Sean Kingston, was booked into a Florida jail on Sunday. After being extradited from the state, the 34-year-old was booked in the Broward County jail.
Up to Monday morning, he was still locked up on a US$100,000 bond. Kingston was arrested on May 25 at Fort Irwin in California after a SWAT team raided his Fort Lauderdale home in Florida on May 23.
According to reports from the New York Post, the rapper is scheduled for a court appearance later today, where he is to answer nine felony charges. Kingston’s mother, Janice Turner, was arrested during the raid on his home and is facing eight charges.
The sixty-one-year-old was released on a $160,000 bond last week. Tuner and Kingston have been accused of committing more than $1 million worth of fraud, including stealing from the Bank of America and the First Republic Bank, a $160,000 Cadillac Escalade, over $80,000 in furniture, and almost $500,000 worth of jewellery.
While the pair’s attorney, Robert Rosenblattare, has expressed that his clients are confident of a successful resolution, other accusations have begun circulating online. On May 30, Texan chef Ishmael Wilson released multiple screenshots of an alleged conversation between him and Kingston.

The Beautiful Girls rapper allegedly hired Wilson to cater for him, promising to pay for both his travel expenses and cooking services. According to the text messages, Kingston did not complete the payment as promised.
Reacting to the post, another chef, Dwight Brown, accused the artiste of owing him and running the same scam for years.
