Shaggy, Spice and Akon Working on New Song – Watch Videos

Following the anniversary of their last major collaboration, Go Down Deh, global dancehall icon Shaggy has announced that he will once again be collaborating with Queen of Dancehall Spice for a new single with Senegalese-American singer Akon.

Shaggy announced the upcoming song on his Instagram page on Thursday, sharing videos of him, Spice, and Akon in the recording studio. While the footage has no audio, Spice can be seen singing at the microphone while Shaggy vibes to the music in one of the shared videos.

In the second video, Shaggy appears to be enjoying the recording of their new collab while Akon is positioned at the microphone. The pair previously worked together on Shaggy’s 2007 single What’s Love.

Shaggy captioned his post with the statement, “Heat on da way!!! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ Gracie back,” while Spice expressed in the comment section that their new collab was a sure hit.

“You know when Iโ€™m with the GOAT ๐Ÿ whatโ€™s gonna happen ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒŽ,” Spice wrote.

The artistes will seemingly be partnering with singer/songwriter Olaf Blackwood, producer Shane Hoosong, recording and mixing engineer Grant Woods Valentine, and producer/songwriter Constantin “Costi” Ioniศ›ฤƒ, whom Shagggy tagged in the post. Hoosong worked with Shaggy for his collaborative album with Sting, 44/876, while Ioniศ›ฤƒ co-wrote and produced Spice, Shaggy, and Sean Paul’s Go Down Deh.

On Monday, the two-year release anniversary of Go Down Deh, Spice thanked Shaggy for his work on the track.
