Sharicka Jackson to Return to the 400m for the 2024 Olympic Season
After switching from the 400m to the 100m and 200m sprints, Shericka Jackson has garnered much success and acclaim on the track. But Jackson has hinted at a return to the longer distance for the upcoming Olympic season in 2024.
Jackson, who has the second-best time over the 400m for Jamaica, competed four times over the distance in the 2023 season, winning three of those races. The Olympian has an individual bronze medal from the 2016 Rio Olympics over the 400m distance.
Though Jackson has not yet confirmed her plans for the 2024 Paris Olympics, the sprinter hinted at her return to the 400m in the upcoming Olympic season on social media. A fan of the athlete asked if Jackson would compete in the 400m next year, to which the admin of the Instagram Question and Answer session for the MVP Track and Field Club stated, “Of course.”
Jackson went on to repost the chat. The sprinter expressed in August that she had wanted to run the 400m at the Jamaica trials and hoped she could return to it in the future to test just how fast she had gotten.
