On Thursday, May 30, Vybz Kartel and his co-accused, as well as the public, waited for the decision to be handed down by the Supreme Court in Downtown Kingston in regard to their habeas corpus application. However, they were denied release on the basis that they were not being held against their constitutional rights.

After the decision was made, one of the co-accused, Shawn Storm, born to the name Shawn Campbell, made a post on social media with the caption, “Wait in. #FREEDOM #GOD&TIME #GloryToGod,” with a photo of himself holding a hand to his mouth and a message shared as a voiceover.

“When you’re angry stay silent, don’t waste your time with explanations people only hear what they want to hear. Accept criticism, but never accept disrespect…the best way to respect yourself is to discipline yourself. Never give up on something you really want, it’s difficult to wait but it’s more difficult to regret,” the statement said.

A follow up post was also made by Adidja Palmer on X, with the same strong resolve that was shown by Shawn Storm. Kartel wrote, “All when wi fall, wi nah bow. June 10th.”
