Sheba Recounts the ‘Love Triangle’ Between Her, Vybz Kartel, and Vanessa Bling: Watch Interview

In a newly released interview, Tasheba Campbell, more popularly known as Sheba, explained how her affair with her then-musical mentor, Vybz Kartel, caused a difficult relationship between her and Vanessa Bling.
Formerly known as Gaza Sheba, Sheba was one of the women in the small group of females that were included in Kartel’s now-disbanded Gaza Empire. Discussing what her relationship with the other women was like, Sheba said that she was close with Gaza Kim and Gaza Indu during her time at Kartel’s music camp.
Speaking on The Fix Podcast, Sheba said she never felt competitive with the other women, which included Gaza Slim, Lisa Hyper, and Vanessa Bling. She explained that they all had different Dancehall alter egos and stayed in their own lane.
However, she did not have a good relationship with Vanessa Bling. While their issues were never expressed lyrically in their music, but, behind the scenes they had personal issues.
“Back then we were cool until a certain bu**y drop in a play and then wi nuh cool again,” Sheba said. According to Sheba, Vanessa simply did not like the fact that they were both sleeping with Kartel, especially because she was with him first.
“Everybody knows she was getting it to. Yuh nah guh pree somebody weh a teck someting weh yah teck to? Worse a she did a teck it first and me come teck it afta. A me did deh in deh first suh a should a me teck it first… A just jealousy,” Sheba stated.
She went on to express that the only person she felt had a right to have a problem with her affair with Kartel was his then-girlfriend, Tanesha ‘Shorty’ Johnson. However, Sheba said that Shorty never created a problem when she visited Kartel at the studio.
“She really really humble in a real life. Like she come round even though shi know seh a bag a wi di deh a f**k har man. She just come and normal. A nuh like shi come and shi a hype… No, and a dat a one a di ting weh mi did kinda rate wid har.”
Further speaking on her relationship with Kartel, Sheba said it began a year after she joined the Gaza Empire. According to the Like Xmas artiste it was a spur-of-the-moment action as they had both been heavily drinking.
Despite her past issues with Vanessa Bling, Sheba considers it a thing of the past and carries no ill feelings for the artiste.
