Shenseea Ushered Off Stage, Performance Cut Short in Kenya

In a disappointing end to the New Year’s celebration, Dancehall star Shenseea’s performance on Tuesday night at the Raha Fest in Nairobi, Kenya was violently interrupted when tear gas was deployed to control individuals without tickets who breached the venue.
Reports indicate that the Shenyeng artiste performed for approximately 7 minutes before her set was abruptly cut short for safety reasons. Videos circulating online show Shenseea performing one of her hit singles, “Rebel,” when a man from her security detail, ushered her off stage.
Further reports reveal that individuals broke down the gates and stormed the venue, causing a stampede. In an effort to control the crowd, police deployed tear gas.
A video that surfaced online allegedly showing the aftermath of the incident, captures numerous people running to escape the chaos. It can be seen below:
Shenseea has since vented her disappointed on social media with a post that reads, “Now, KENYA 😑😑😑😑😑 i’m a lil mad at y’all ngl!!”
Despite the disruption, social media has been buzzing with fans praising Shenseea for her performance, even amid the unfolding events. However, others have expressed disappointment and some have demanded refunds for what they viewed as a failed show.
