On Saturday, Shericka Jackson competed in the 60m race at the Queen’s/Grace inside the national stadium in Kingston. After getting a poor start, she powered her way into second place as she crossed the line in 7.18s (-0.4).

This is the 30-year-old’s first race back from injury and Despite placing second, the run from her is regarded as a ‘good’ season opener. This was Jackson’s first race in 6 months after her major season ending injury last summer.
Kishane Thompson and Tia Clayton also ran 60m races on Saturday, however their races were in Central Asia, in Astana, Kazakhstan. While Clayton won her race comfertably in 7.18s, Kishane had some discomfort after pushing hard to win his race in 6.56s.
