Skillibeng Lists Dancehall’s Top 5 Lyrical Artistes

Dancehall artiste Emwah Warmington, professionally known as Skillibeng, rose to Dancehall stardom with songs such as Whap Whap and Crocodile Teeth, which garnered international attention and a remix with rapper Nicki Minaj.
While the young artiste has only been a major player in the industry for a few years, he has ranked his lyrical prowess among Dancehall’s top five artistes. Skillibeng attended the 2024 BET Awards on Sunday, performing the track Jump alongside his collaborators Tyla and Gunna at the award show.
Before taking to the stage, the artiste was asked to list his top five lyrical Dancehall artistes, which included Vybz Kartel and himself. “Top five lyrical Dancehall artistes. I would say Vybz Kartel, me, Aidonia, Masicka, Alkaline,” Skillibeng stated.
The deejay went on to name himself the top flyest Dancehall artiste when it comes to fashion.
Reacting to Skillibeng’s list, some viewers agreed with Skillibeng’s list and said the artiste was unbiased in his choices.
However, some said artistes like Popcaan, Chronic Law, and Busy Signal should have been included.

“Popcaan ago vexed bro,” another viewer stated, and others agreed, as Skillibeng has praised Popcaan for his mentorship in the past.
