Former Reggae Boy Said his ‘door was kicked down by soldiers’ in Tivoli

Former national Reggae Boy, Steve Green, says he is left distraught following the treatment he received from the security forces in West Kingston earlier this week. Green made his debut for Jamaica in 1996, he played twice for the national senior team, twice for the under 23s, six times for the under 20s, and eight times for the under 17s. According to Green the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) soldiers kicked in his door during a joint military/police operation in the Tivoli Gardens community. Green revealed that he was by his mother’s house during the exchange of gunfire between the security forces and criminal faction in the community but was “frightened when he got home and saw his door kicked off. ” Green said Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) soldiers forcefully entered his home in Tivoli Gardens earlier this week during a joint military/police operation in the community. “The people next door said …

The Reggae Boyz Campaign for World Cup 2020 Will Be Assisted by The Bob Marley Foundation

The Bob Marley Foundation, which is now led by Cedella Marley, engaged in another partnership with the (JFF) or Jamaica Football Federation, that is now aimed at assisting with the marketing and sponsorship generation for the Reggae Boyz, which is the national men’s team.  They are now preparing to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Michael Ricketts the JFF president revealed that, the JFF had been speaking with Cedella, and she expressed an interest in helping the organization to do more marketing of Jamaica’s football on the “international stage” in order to attract corporate entities and sponsors. “The Marley Foundation is supportive and had discussions and now this is the direction Cedella will be heading in. She has now partnered with the JFF as they try to market Jamaica’s football products,” the president said at a press conference on Tuesday. The Reggae Boyz are on an unbeaten run having won all their matches in the 2019-2020 CONCACAF Nation’s League. On Friday, November 15th the Reggae boyz managed to put 2 goals pass Caribbean opponent Antigua and Barbuda without getting any reply. Jamaica scored in the 34th and 58th minutes. The last time the teams met Jamaica won 6-0. As a result of this win, Jamaica has qualified for the 2021 Concacaf Goldcup. After this win, Jamaica also tops Group C with 15 points and is on a path to Group A. Today, October 15th, the Jamaica Mens national team AKA the Reggae Boyz hammered Aruba 6-0 in their return leg fixture of Group C of The CONCACAF Nation’s League, the match took place at the Ergillo Hato Stadium in Curacao. Jamaica Reggae Boyz Brushed Guyana Aside 4-0

The Reggae Boyz today played the second match of the 2019-2020 CONCACAF Nation’s League and Alvas Powell, Jamaica’s right back opened the scoring in the first half after running through onto goal from the right hand side early in the match, he managed to add a second in the 25th minute. This was Powell’s first time scoring for Jamaica. Striker Dever Orgill scored Jamaica’s 3rd goal in the 43rd minute after a good hold up play by fellow striker Nicholson. Jamaica Reggae Boyz Booked a spot in the Semifinal of the Gold Cup Tournament after beating Panama 1-0 moments ago in the quarter-final. Jamaica scored in the 75th minute of the game via a well-taken penalty from number 10 Darren Mattocks just moments after being on the field.
