Tami Chin Congratulates Husband Wayne Marshall on His Upcoming Order of Distinction National Honour

Reggae/dancehall artiste Wayne Marshall has been announced as one of the 125 Jamaicans who will be honoured at this year’s national honours ceremony on National Heroes Day. Wayne will receive an Order of Distinction (Officer Class) for his contributions to entertainment.

His wife, fellow artiste Tami Chin, congratulated her partner of 13 years in a heartfelt message on social media.

Tami and Wayne tied the knot in September 2009 and now have four children, Jaxen, Atlas, Oz, and 1-year-old Ivy Arrow, whom they welcomed to the family last year. On Monday, Tami shared several photos of her husband in her congratulatory post, from his days as a burgeoning artiste in dancehall rocking short plaits to his preferred locs in the latter half of his career and his current close crop haircut.

Tami praised her husband for remaining genuine throughout his 25 years in music as he laboured to create an exceptional body of work. The Frozen singer highlighted Wayne’s spirit of upliftment, dubbing him a “friend to everyone” who found joy in the achievements of others.

Speaking on his contributions to music in her post to Instagram, Tami noted Wayne’s passion for the art form and his ability to unify his fellow entertainers to create memorable music. Tami explained that because of his exemplary career and life as a family man, he is now viewed as a role model for the new generation of artistes.

The singer expressed how she was recently overcomed with emotion after Wayne reflected that he had pursued music his entire life and had never had another job. She went on to describe Wayne as faithful and dedicated and encouraged him to remain true to himself as he continued trodding the path. Tami added that their entire family was proud of his award but joked that he should not expect her to curtsy.

“Here’s to you and being true to who you are always. Congratulations on receiving a National Award, Wayne Mitchell OD. And no, I will not curtsy 😂 Ok, maybe just for this week,” Tami wrote.
