Amidst the circulation of a video of a taxi driver attacking a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus driver, the taxi driver responded via voice notes on Sunday explaining why he was forced to take such aggressive action.

Over the weekend, a video went viral online of an altercation between the taxi driver and the JUTC bus driver. The footage was recorded by one of several passengers who were on the JUTC bus at the time of the incident.

While the driver of the bus could not be seen, the taxi driver was recorded hurling what appeared to be stones into the driver’s side of the vehicle, then sprinting back into his car. Amid encouragement from passengers to reverse the bus, the JUTC driver reversed and hit the taxi as it drove away.

Following the incident, a man who did not share his name but identified himself as the taxi driver told his side of the story, his voicenotes were on Instagram-based news and entertainment page Questimes.

According to the taxi driver, the JUTC driver prompted the altercation, which he said took place at the entrance of the University of Technology (UTech). He expressed that he is not a violent person, but the bus driver drove down on his car.

His statements did not clarify what happened afterwards or if his vehicle was damaged. However, he went on to state that what the bus driver did was not fair.
