Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, who is also known as 6ix9ine, was arrested for instigating the beating up of two music producers to defend his girlfriend’s honour. As he attempted to flee to the United States on a private jet, rapper 6ix9ine, born Daniel Hernandez, was arrested, according to reports.
The arrest was done In the Dominican Republic over the weekend.
A video clip of Hernandez in handcuffs on Sunday, Oct. 15, has since surfaced on the internet. Hernandez is seen in a video wearing handcuffs as he emerges from a hotel, surrounded by police who took him to a police vehicle and put him inside. The crowd that gathered outside the hotel cheers, records videos, and snaps pictures as Hernandez emerges and is brought into custody by the authorities.
There are claims that the 27-year-old Gooba rapper assaulted two music producers who allegedly disrespected his girlfriend, Dominican singer Yailin La mas Viral. There were no life-threatening injuries sustained by either of the two men, but they were treated at a local hospital. This latest incident only adds to the long list of times the rapper has found himself in trouble with the law since his rise to global stardom.
One of the producers attacked, who goes by the name Diamond La Mafia, said he was in the process of recording a song when five men attacked him; the other producer sustained a dislocated jaw after being gunbutted, which required surgery.
Felix Portes, a Dominican Republic-based criminal lawyer, confirmed Hernandez’s arrest. Throughout a series of posts on social media, Portes has said that Hernandez had been trying to flee the country in a private jet, but he was placed on an immigration alert.
