Tory Lanez Receives Court-Ordered House Arrest After Alleged August Alsina Fight

Following his alleged physical altercation with August Alsina in September, rapper Tory Lanez has been placed under house arrest until his upcoming trial against Megan Thee Stallion begins.
Alsina accused Lanez of ambushing him with his security guards backstage at a concert in Chicago and then punching him because he felt disrespected after not being properly greeted by Alsina. Alsina detailed the alleged incident in a lengthy Instagram post and shared a photograph of himself beaten and bloodied. According to TMZ, during a Los Angeles court hearing on Wednesday, prosecutors pushed for Lanez to be remanded, citing his attack on Alsina. The prosecution asserted that the artiste had violated the conditions of his bail in his pending case with Megan and that he was still a threat to public safety. According to the prosecution, relying on monetary bail would not be enough of a deterrent for the Chicks Tape rapper.
Shawn Holley, Lanez’s legal representative, dismissed the prosecution’s assertions, countering their argument with the fact that no charges were filed against his client in the Alsina case. The presiding judge did not rule in favour of the prosecution’s wishes but ordered that Lanez wear a GPS ankle monitor and be placed under house arrest until his felony assault trial for the alleged shooting of Megan commences on Friday, October 28.
