Walker spoke to the Jamaica Gleaner, saying that the sprint legend, who has been using SSL for over ten years, discovered discrepancies with his account on Wednesday. SSL reportedly informed the police, and other entities, including the Financial Investigations Division and the Financial Services Commission, were also made aware.

Walker stated that “all the relevant steps have been taken to come to the bottom of this.” Walker, however, refrained from disclosing the precise sum lost and the time frame under investigation. Instead, he reported that Bolt’s “entire portfolio is being reviewed.”

According to the Jamaica Gleaner, the stolen funds from Bolt’s accounts were allegedly part of a huge fraud at SSL. The fraud involved a former employee of the entity.

Attorney-at-law Tamika Harris, who is representing a former SSL employee, also spoke to the Jamaica Gleaner and stated that her client is in contact with the organisation. Harris reported that the communication between her client, SSL, and SSL’s legal representative began two weeks ago.

“My client is in discussion with SSL and the lawyers representing SSL,” Harris said.
