Vybz Kartel and Mavado Following Each Other On Instagram

Once bitter enemies, Dancehall artistes Mavado and Vybz Kartel have put the past behind them and are even keeping up with each other on social media nowadays.
Both deejays rose to prominence in the early 2000s and were both proteges of Dancehall veteran Bounty Killer. They were also once both members of Bounty’s Alliance, with Kartel the first to depart and form his own Dancehall fraternity, the Gaza Empire.
on the other hand, Mavado formed the Gully Side and both atistes took shots at each other in several songs. While Gully or Gaza was once a hotly debated topic on the streets of Jamaica, over the years the enmity between the artistes and their fans has simmered down.
As Kartel was incarcerated for over a decade and Mavado has not been in the country for a number of years, both men have not been seen with each other for some time. But it does appear that they have completely squashed their differences behind the scenes.
Additionally, the men are currently following each other on Instagram.
Reacting to the news of the men following each other, many fans were happy to hear the news and one fan expressed hopes that Kartel would also reconcile with Alkaline. Someone also recently asked via a comment for the Gaza deejay to reunite with Stephen McGregor aka Di Genius.
“Glad to see you unite with the gullygad strength needed indeed 👏 @vybzkartel 🔥.”
“Unity 👏 alkaline an Kartel next just have faith !!!!” one fan wrote.
Kartel and Mavado’s feud, arguably the most influential in Dancehall history, slowly found its way out of the Dancehall arena into the Jamaican public. Their hostility towards each other would culminate in one of the most anticipated clashes at Sting.
However, following their performance at the 2008 staging of the show, both men declared themselves the victors, prolonging tensions between their supporters. The then-prime minister, Bruce Golding, would go on to organise a press conference, during which the deejays put an end to their lyrical war.
