Vybz Kartel Seemingly Rubbishes Claims of Mavado Being A “Bigger Artiste” Than Him
Vybz Kartel appears to be rubbishing the talks about Mavado being a bigger artiste than himself. The debate about which of the two dancehall icons is more prominent globally continues to be an interesting discussion in dancehall.
One of the people who chimed in on the matter days ago is dancehall artiste Flexx, and his take on the subject is that Mavado’s reach surpassed Vybz Kartel’s.
While speaking on the subject, the deejay insisted that Mavado is “the bigger artiste by far,” and that remark seems to have prompted Vybz Kartel to respond.
Consequently, Vybz Kartel dropped a photo on his Instagram page of the “Top Ten Most Streamed Dancehall Artists Globally on Spotify” to prove that he is bigger in comparison to the Gully Gad artiste.
On the list, Vyz Kartel was ranked at No. 3, and Popcaan at No. 2 while Sean Paul, secured the No. 1 position. Other artistes such as Shenseea (No. 4), Spice (No. 8), Beenie Man (No. 9), Skillibeng (No. 10) were also featured on the list.
Accompanying the December 15 post was a note from Vybz Kartel that seemingly jeered Flexx’s comments. “Di man weh him say bigga dan Kartel, a weh him a stream? In a literal stream? Or a pond? ..or a river?” The Gaza deejay asked.
The amusing post had social media users laughing, including dancehall artiste Popcaan, who joked about owning all rivers.
Vybz Kartel’s associate and co-convict Shawn Storm was also in the comments, laughing at the deejays who bragged about being on top but were missing from the list.
