WATCH: Woman Gets Run Over by Car in St. Mary
A woman was crossing the street yesterday evening in Port Maria, St. Mary when she was unsuspectingly run over by a car.
The vehicle, seemingly a robot taxi (a car transporting passengers without having a red licence plate), suddenly turned right onto the road where the woman was crossing and hit her in the process.
Video footage was captured of the incident via CCTV in the area which was time stamped for Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at around 12:41 PM. The short clip shows a black car passing before we see the victim ambling across the street with a bag in each hand.
When the woman almost reaches the middle of the road, the car that hit her comes into view and turns onto the road before running over the woman. The driver stops suddenly, realizing what happened, and gets out to help along with other bystanders who saw the accident happen.
The passengers who were in the vehicle quickly evacuated and retrieved their items from the car.
