Yanique Curvy Diva Opens Up About Sexual Assault And Abuse

The road to success, happiness and peace was not an easy journey for Yanique Curvy Diva who recently sat down with Simone Clarke-Cooper, reflecting on her career and her past, which has revealed a heartbreaking history of sexual assault and abuse.

Yanique “Curvy Diva” Barrett, who paved a career in the entertainment industry as a TV show host, is a recording artist, cook, successful entrepreneur and popular social media influencer. The “Lifestyle” singer did an interview on the podcast Sim Soul Sessions where she shared a dark part of her past that she hadn’t wished to reveal until after her mother passed away because her mother was also a victim of rape.

At the age of 15 years, Yanique and her friend had agreed to meet at a friend’s boyfriend’s house, but her friend never came to the location and Yanique was subsequently sexually assaulted.

Three years later, at the age of 18, she got pregnant with her daughter Jada and entered into a relationship with her child’s father. The relationship she had with Jada’s father was abusive and they had to go to counselling. The counselling the couple received ultimately made Yanique decide to end the relationship and focus on herself and her daughter, who’s now 17 years old and has an unbreakable bond with her.
