10th Grade Student Charged with Raping 13-Year-Old

It is alleged that a Grade 10 student raped a 13-year-old girl in St. Catherine approximately 14 days ago and he was arrested and charged over the weekend.

The boy who is now charged for rape was released on bail and he was then allowed to leave the police station with his father, but he is scheduled to appear in Court on Wednesday December 18.

While the girl’s mother was relieved that he was suspended from the school and was charged for the crime.

It is alleged that the girl was raped in the restroom after she was asked for $50 to use it and refused to hand it over to the male student. He held her by her throat and pushed her against the wall and assaulted her.

Her mother said school should be a safe place for children. We can only hope he will get the punishment that he deserves. The mother said she is thinking of other little girls who might be scared to face the Court and allow these rapists to getaway.
