Family members of 14-year-old Kimoya Gordon and 10-year-old Recali Smith are urgently seeking help after the siblings went missing during Sunday’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Montego Bay, St. James.
In the Jamaica Star Report, the children were reportedly with their grandmother at the event in Sam Sharpe Square when they disappeared. Their mother, Daneil Tennant, recounted that her mother had taken the children to the crowded event, but decided to leave early due to the chaos.
“My daughter insisted she wasn’t ready to leave, but my mother, who also had my nephew with her, was frustrated and urged them to come along,” Tennant explained. As they made their way through the crowd toward the bus stop, Tennant’s mother turned around and found the children were no longer with her.
Kimoya, a student at Holland High School in Hanover, was last seen wearing a blue crocheted top, ripped jeans, and black Crocs. Recali, who attends Chetwood Primary School, was wearing a white T-shirt, cut-off jeans, and grey and white sneakers.
Recali’s paternal grandmother, Joan Lawrence, expressed concern after multiple unsuccessful attempts to reach Recali on his phone. “We’ve been calling his phone since last night, but there’s no response,” Lawrence said.
Anyone with information about the children’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Montego Hills Police Station, dial 119, or report to the nearest police station. The family remains hopeful for their safe return.
