One of the confirmed cases was identified through contact tracing of the first patient, while the second patient was at the hospital and had travelled to Trinidad and Tobago and he displayed symptoms that are similar to those seen when persons have COVID-19.

The 17 other persons from St Ann, Kingston and St Andrew, and Clarendon, were found through contact tracing from the confirmed cases.

The ministry officials said all 19 cases will remain in isolation until the healthcare team is satisfied that their symptoms have gone.
